Macy Steers currently serves as Senior Director, Head of Executive Assurance Financial Institutions at Markel Corporation. Macy joined Markel through the Alterra Capital acquisition and previously served as Director, Financial Institutions. He has over 15 years of industry experience, predominantly in the executive liability underwriting field, focusing specifically on the financial institutions sector throughout the majority of his career. He has held a variety of positions in both underwriting and management while continually providing creative solutions for clients and building longstanding relationships that are so important at Markel. Macy received a B.A. in economics and history from St. Lawrence University.  Macy resides in New York with his wife, Jaime, and three children.
