Joining Chubb immediately after graduating from Western Michigan University in 1986, Ken Stephens has held several positions of increasing responsibility during his 29 year career at Chubb. Ken began his Chubb career in Detroit, Michigan, gaining underwriting training in the executive protection insurance products, including directors’ & officers’ liability, fidelity, fiduciary, and kidnap coverage. He then served in the St. Louis office from 1987 to 1994 as Senior Underwriter and Department Manager. From 1994 to 1996, he served in Chubb’s New Jersey Headquarters as the Worldwide Fidelity Insurance Manager. From 1998 to 2000, he served as the Mid-Atlantic Zone Manager overseeing six branches. From February 2000 to June 2003, Ken served as the Northern Zone Executive Protection Manager where he served as the senior resource for executive protection insurance products for the Midwest. In June 2003, Ken gained additional responsibilities for the remaining Northern Zone Chubb Specialty Insurance (CSI) practices including Department of Financial Institutions, ChubbPro, and Health Care. Ken has earned the Registered Professional Liability Underwriting (RPLU) designation is currently the Western Territory Manager of Chubb’s specialty business, accountable for 22 offices and one-half of CSI’s premiums in the U.S.
