Vice President, Employment Practices Liability Product Officer
Claudine English joined Zurich North America as the Employment Practices Liability Product Officer for the Financial Lines Technical Underwriting Team. Claudine supports the Public, Private, Not for Profit and Financial Institutions business in achieving profitable growth in employment practices liability. Her responsibilities include identifying strategic opportunities and emerging risks, drive renewal retention, new business growth and profitability by delivering product development, product/coverage innovation, competitive policy forms, and legal and underwriting insights and analyses.
Prior to Zurich, Claudine served as Vice President and Managing Counsel for Chubb Financial Lines, North America Office of General Counsel, heading up the Public Company and Financial Institutions legal team at Chubb. She was their lead product counsel for Employment Practices Liability, Directors and Officers Liability, Fiduciary Liability, Crime, Kidnap/Ransom & Extortion, and Workplace Violence lines of business, as well as the Labor Management Trust and Financial Fidelity products. She joined Chubb in their Specialty Insurance business unit in 2006. Prior to Chubb, Claudine began her career as an Assistant District Attorney for the Kings County District Attorney’s Office in Brooklyn, New York. She continued her career as trial counsel for the insurance defense firms of Marulli & Associates, PC and Shaub, Ahmuty, Citrin & Spratt, LLC, both in New York City. Claudine received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Boston University and a Juris Doctor from St. John’s University School of Law. She is admitted to practice law in New York, New Jersey (In-House Counsel license), and the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
Claudine frequently serves as a Continuing Legal Education lecturer on Employment Practices Liability at organizational and industry sponsored events, is a regular panelist at professional liability insurance seminars, and has lectured on all aspects of labor and employment law at the NYS Bar Association and Columbia University.
