Lauran Cutler (Speaker)
Risk Control Director
Lauran L. Cutler serves are the risk control director for allied healthcare facilities and provider programs. In this role she provides consultative risk control, patient safety, quality improvement and process/system improvement services for our insured clients. She works collaboratively with our insureds to implement strategies to mitigate risk and improve the quality of services and clinical care.
Before joining CNA, Lauran served in serval different roles with operational and administrative responsibilities in healthcare organizations including assistant vice president of a large academic hospital with responsibilities for risk management and risk financing, chief operating officer for an outpatient medical/surgical clinic, and administrator of a large physician group practice. Her clinical nursing experience includes general medical/surgical care, emergency department, burn unit, open heart and surgical intensive care.
Lauran received her nursing degree from Eastern Kentucky University , maintains the designation of Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management from the American Hospital Association, and Six Sigma Green Belt Certification from the Institute of Industrial Engineers. She has also completed the TeamSTEPPS® Master Training Course sponsored by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality aimed at improving communication and teamwork in order to improve patient safety and reduce hospital professional liability.
