Mary Claire Tillotson is a Director of Claims for Markel, overseeing claims handling in the Healthcare, Environmental and Products Liability claims lines of business. She obtained her J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law and is licensed to practice law in Illinois, Florida, Georgia and South Carolina, in addition to holding insurance adjuster licenses in many states. She practiced law, primarily as outside insurance defense counsel for approximately seventeen years, concentrating her practice in healthcare insurance defense before moving to Claims. She has worked in healthcare/medical malpractice claims for a decade, with six of those years being at Markel.
