Ben joined TransRe in March 2022, where he manages a roster of complex claims across all 50 states. He has 20 years’ experience handling medical malpractice claims as both a defense attorney and claims manager. After graduating from Rutgers Law School in 2003, Ben spent over 10 years representing doctors, health care professionals and facilities accused of medical negligence, first for a private firm and then for New York City Health + Hospitals, the largest municipal hospital system in the country. Prior to TransRe, Ben was an associate general counsel in charge of managing primary claims for NYU Langone Hospitals’ captive insurance program. It was in this role that he came to understand the profound impact that proactive, thoughtful, and innovative claims management can have on outcomes. Ben has brought that same approach to TransRe, where he eagerly encourages more hands-on management of claims and the use of novel defense tactics.
