Kara joined McGriff in 2019 after having served the leader of the Executive & Professional Risk Solutions practice group for USI Southwest, where she worked as a client advisor and broker for a decade. Before joining USI, Kara practiced in the commercial litigation group of Hughes & Luce and the Corporate Compliance Investigations and Defense Team at Andrews Kurth. Her legal and brokerage clients have included a broad range of public and private companies in the energy, manufacturing, professional services, hospitality, pharmaceutical and life sciences, transportation, and technology industries.

In addition to her law license, she holds an Advanced Claims Professional (ACP) designation in Professional Lines.

She is a cum laude graduate of The University of Texas at Austin and a summa cum laude graduate of Texas Tech School of Law.
